The Last Woman of Warsaw by Judy Batalion
The Last Woman of Warsaw tells the story of two very different Jewish women who band together in 1938 Warsaw. Fanny is a modern and sophisticated woman who dreams of being an artist but worries that her impending marriage will not allow it. Zosia has recently moved to the city from her small shtetl, leaving her religious family behind to join a socialist youth movement focused on creating a Jewish homeland. When renowned artist Wanda Petrovsky, Fanny's professor and a leader in Zosia's movement, the two set aside their differences to find her.
